Excerpt

(Excerpt from Book 1 Chapter 11):

They were locked in an intense battle; their moves were blindingly quick that the excess force caused even more damage to what was left of the lobby.

As their battle continued, the Jamatrix’s last command came into effect, the Chamber of Inventions was being covered by the same airidium coating as its door, thus preventing it from being destroyed by the crumbling lobby. Ferrius snarled as he continued to slash at the Jamatrix, both of them were battered and bloodied, neither one of them able to gain the upper hand over the other, suddenly a large chunk of marble fell in-between them and both of them jumped back out of the way just before it hit the floor with a resounding crash and ended their clash.

Both of them stared at each other and panted, their previous clash had almost drained them of energy, but they both jumped over the large chunk of marble and clashed in the air, the Jamatrix flipped Ferrius up into the air with a swift blow from her energy pole, the blow dented his body again. As he hurtled upward at blinding speeds, he opened his eyes and saw that the Jamatrix was flying straight at him, with her pole readied for her final blow. He wasn’t going to let her finish him; he had come so far and wasn’t going to let it all end here. He extended his arm and his hand folded onto itself, the cannon slid out and Ferrius charged it, but he couldn’t charge it quick enough to get a full blast, because the Jamatrix was only a few meters away from him. He fired the charge and the small ball of energy sped towards her and hit her head on. The explosion of energy knocked the Jamatrix back down and she hit the ground with a loud crunch. She let go of her pole and it rolled a few meters away from her. She coughed up some blood as she tried to get up and continue the fight. A few seconds later Ferrius landed back on the ground and struggled to get up, but he did and he walked over to the wounded Jamatrix, he grabbed her by the neck with his stained hand and lifted her up off of the ground. He stared into her eyes.

“Your time has come. Even gods perish,” Ferrius said and the blade on his free, stained arm hummed idly. The Jamatrix looked at the blade and looked back into Ferrius’ eyes, and gasped again as if trying to say something. Ferrius lightened his grasp on her neck.

“And so do…machines,” she spluttered.
